We are all that little engine sometime in our lives. Life is about perseverance and determination.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favorite childhood toy was Operation.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My Mother. Silent strength. She was raised during a time when minorities and women were not allowed to achieve their dreams - finishing high school in 3 year, college degree in math and masters in education while raising four children. She was a fighter.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and traveling.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
It was between pediatrics and psychiatry. During my third year, I fought for a neglected abuse seven year old child. Afterwards he walked up to me and gave me a hug which melt my heart and made my decision. I was his voice. ( as much as a medical student could be)
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I approach every patient and parent how I would like to be approached.
